Vaughan Hayden is the pastor of Marshallton UMC in Wilmington, DE. After serving eight years at Hopewell UMC in Port Deposit, MD as a student local pastor and provisional Elder, he was ordained an Elder in Full Connection of the Peninsula Delaware Conference.
Vaughan enjoys preaching and teaching, preaching many sermon series to help connect the Bible to culture. He enjoys pushing the envelope, challenging people to think, and act differently. He believes that Jesus had a radical view of a relationship with God which needs to be recaptured, a view that is appealing and real for all generations. His aim is to help people reconsider Jesus, whether they have been in the church for eighty years, or eighty seconds.
Vaughan also has a passion for reaching college students, as it was during his college years at Drexel University that Jesus apprehended him. To this end, he chairs the Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministries.
Vaughan also teaches an Evangelism seminar, “How to Share your Faith” at local churches.
Vaughan hopes to publish some of his sermon series into book form within the next year. We will keep you up to date.
Vaughan resides with his wife and two sons in the church parsonage.
